Enshrouded's 1.0 launch and the three hotfixes that followed: build numbers, crash fixes, the Fire Wisp change, save migration and known issues.
Enshrouded Update Guide: 1.0 Patch Notes and Hotfixes
Quick answer: Enshrouded left early access on October 15, 2026 and Keen Games shipped three hotfixes in the first week: 1.0.0.1 the same day, 1.0.0.2 on October 16, and 1.0.0.3 on October 21. All three are stability patches, not content patches. The only balance change in the set is the Fire Wisp scroll, which is now fixed at level 27 instead of scaling with your character. As of October 24, 1.0.0.3 is the newest build at version 1273043.
- 1.0.0.1 (October 15, version 1267041): random crashes, indoor lighting, Fire Wisp, peripherals.
- 1.0.0.2 (October 16, version 1269579): world settings, save migration, Nvidia fog, factory placement, skill tree text.
- 1.0.0.3 (October 21, version 1273043): Early Access rewards, water simulation, more crashes, migration edge cases, Flame Altar position.
- None of the three changes quests, loot tables, enemy damage or the level cap. If a video claims otherwise, it is not quoting these notes.

Hotfix 1.0.0.1: the launch-day patch
The first patch went out on release day and reads like a list of things that broke under load. It fixed several random crashes, toned down dynamic lighting indoors that was blowing out interiors, and corrected a handful of peripheral-related crashes.
The balance note is the interesting one. The Fire Wisp scroll used to scale with the player, which made it disproportionately strong at the end of the game. It is now a fixed level 27 item. Anyone who built a build around scaling it has to replace that slot.
Two known issues were documented rather than fixed at the time:
- Reverb in halls and story dialogue could sound quiet whenever master volume was below 100%. The workaround is to leave the in-game master volume at 100% and lower the volume in Windows instead.
- The Edit World button could stop responding. Subscribing to any item in adventure sharing and trying again was the suggested workaround.

Hotfix 1.0.0.2: saves, fog and the factory
The second patch arrived the next day and hit the systems that generate the most support threads: world configuration and save migration. World settings that could not be configured now can be. A rare crash during save migration was fixed, with one caveat Keen stated openly: characters that were already corrupted are not migrated, and the studio said it was still working on that case.
Rendering got a targeted fix too: an Nvidia grey fog issue that showed up most often in Hollow Halls. Factory placement could crash or leave menus in a bad state, and four skill tree entries were corrected in localisation: Aerial Wand Attack, Evasion Attack, Wand Evasion Attack and Crash Down Attack.
If a character fails the migration, the fix in 1.0.0.2 does not recover it. Keep the old save folder until you have loaded every character once.
Hotfix 1.0.0.3: the cleanup patch
The third and largest hotfix landed on October 21 and closed the loop on several launch-week reports. Missing Early Access rewards can now be claimed from the pause menu, which removes the need to file a ticket for a cosmetic that never arrived.
Stability work covered water simulation, crashes when leaving the game, more random crashes, factory interaction crashes, and a crash when unlocking something while a recipe filter was active. Save migration got another pass for invalid entries in the backpack and for Flame Altars that were not sitting on the voxel grid. The altar is now corrected automatically, but there is a side effect: if that base had water at the altar position, the water has to be rebuilt.
Large bases also got relief from flickering lights, and the Deluxe artbook and world map were updated.

What 1.0 itself changed
The hotfixes are small next to the release they follow. 1.0 completed the map, added Cinder's Cradle beyond the Veilwater Basin with a lava wasteland below and floating islands above, opened two new Hollow Halls in Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin, and expanded Springlands, Blackmire and Kindlewastes toward the world edges. It also raised the player cap to 50, the gear ceiling to 55, and added HDR with a calibration screen.
If you are returning from early access, the practical order is: check your characters migrated, claim any missing Early Access rewards from the pause menu, then read the 1.0 changelog before assuming an old build still works. The full highlight list is on Keen's own site.

FAQ
Is there a 1.0.1 or a content patch after 1.0.0.3? At the time of writing, October 24, 2026, the newest official announcement is Hotfix 1.0.0.3. Anything beyond that is speculation until Keen posts it.
Did the hotfixes wipe or reset progress? No. They fixed crashes in the migration path. Characters that were already corrupted before 1.0.0.2 are the exception and were not restored.
Why is my Fire Wisp weaker after the patch? It is now a fixed level 27 scroll rather than one that scales with your character. That is a deliberate balance change, not a bug.
Do these patches apply to consoles? The notes are published on the Steam news hub. Keen has not published a separate console hotfix list in these announcements.
