Enshrouded Release Date, Platforms and Price in 1.0

The Enshrouded release date for the full 1.0 version was October 15, 2026. It launched simultaneously on Steam for Windows and on PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro, at a standard price of 39.99 dollars with a 10 percent launch discount bringing it to 35.99 dollars. Xbox Series X and S owners have to wait until spring 2027.

The short version:

  • Full release: October 15, 2026, after roughly two and a half years in Steam Early Access.
  • PC and PlayStation 5 launch together; no Xbox version at launch.
  • Standard price is 39.99 dollars, discounted to 35.99 dollars during the launch window.
  • Everyone who owned the PC Early Access version keeps the game for free.
  • Two hotfixes landed within days of release.

What Actually Shipped With 1.0

This was not a quiet version bump. The 1.0 update finished the story, opened the entire map and added the game's largest single content drop. The headline additions:

  • A brand-new northern region, Cinder's Cradle, split between a lava wasteland below and floating islands above.
  • Two new Hollow Halls, one in Albaneve Summits and one in Veilwater Basin.
  • Nine new spells, a new summoning category, and eternal versions of every spell and several arrow types.
  • A new player level cap of 50, with gear upgradeable to level 55.
  • Sparkworks, a logic system with a 2D node editor that lets players wire inputs to outputs for traps, puzzles and escape rooms.
  • Fully voiced lore notes and voiced main crafters in English, German and Mandarin Chinese.

Keen Games also raised the level ceiling and reworked the early game pacing at the same time. The complete change list is long, and the developer published it a full day before launch. You can read the highlight breakdown in the official announcement below, and the parts that matter to a new player are collected in our Enshrouded beginner guide.

Price on PC and PlayStation

Enshrouded sits in the mid-price bracket rather than the 60 to 70 dollar range that most large action RPGs occupy. The table below reflects the figures visible on the storefronts on release week.

Platform Standard price Launch-week price Notes
Steam (Windows) 39.99 dollars 35.99 dollars 10 percent off during launch window
PlayStation Store (PS5) 39.99 dollars Same tier Regional pricing varies by store
PS5 Pro Same as PS5 Same as PS5 No separate Pro edition

One historical note that matters if you are comparing old numbers. During Early Access the PC version sat at a lower 29.99 dollar tier, and Keen Games raised the price on September 8, 2026, before the full release. If a forum post or an old video calls Enshrouded a 29.99 dollar game, that price is out of date.

Prices move. Storefronts run regional discounts and seasonal sales, so treat the numbers here as the release-week reference and confirm the live figure on the Steam store page or the PlayStation Store listing before you buy.

Where You Can Play: Steam, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox in 2027

Enshrouded arrived on two families of hardware on day one and one more is planned later.

  • Windows PC via Steam. Full controller support, Steam Cloud and Steam achievements are all listed, and it is marked as a single-player and online co-op title.
  • PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. The console version shipped the same day as the PC version, which is unusual for a survival game that spent years as a PC-only Early Access product.
  • Xbox Series X and S. Not available at launch. Keen Games has pointed to spring 2027 for the Xbox release.

If you are a console player weighing up the PlayStation version specifically, the dedicated Enshrouded PS5 guide covers performance, price and what the console build includes in more depth.

A separate platform question that comes up constantly is whether PC and PlayStation players can join the same world. They cannot, at least not at launch, and the crossplay and multiplayer breakdown explains exactly what the developer has and has not committed to.

Do Early Access Owners Pay Again?

No. This is the single most common question around a game that spent years in Early Access, and the developer answered it directly in the launch FAQ: if you owned Enshrouded on PC during Early Access, you do not need to buy it again for 1.0. The full release is delivered as an update to the existing product.

That answer applies to the PC Steam version. Console releases are separate purchases because there was no Early Access console build to own in the first place.

Early Access backers did get a small thank-you: three decorative props for your base, redeemable from the Redeem Add-Ons button in the escape menu. The developer also noted that non-backers can still get them placed in their world by a friend who owns the Early Access reward, and can remove the props themselves even if they cannot place them.

Same purchase, new save format

Your key does not expire and your old saves are supported. The 1.0 release moved to a new, more efficient save format, and saves from version 0.8 and earlier are backed up and converted automatically the first time you load them. Since the world changed a lot, the studio still encourages a fresh start if you want the reworked opening.

What Is Inside the Deluxe Upgrade

Enshrouded lists a Deluxe Upgrade Pack as a paid add-on on PC. Keen Games has described it in patch notes as containing a digital artbook and a world map, and the first post-launch hotfix updated both of those assets. The store also applies the usual pre-order and deluxe bonus framing that Steam uses for any add-on, so the safest way to check exactly what you get, and whether the extras are cosmetic only, is the live store listing.

The practical advice is simple. The Deluxe content shown so far is presentation material, not weapons or power. If you only care about playing the game, the standard edition is complete. If you collect artbooks, the upgrade is a low-risk add-on rather than a content gate.

Post-Launch Hotfix Timeline

Keen Games moved quickly after release, shipping two hotfixes inside the first days. Knowing the timeline helps you judge whether a bug you hit has already been addressed.

Hotfix Build What it fixed
1.0.0.1 1267041 Random crashes, indoor brightness, and a Fire Wisp scroll that scaled too hard
1.0.0.2 1269579 World settings editing, save migration crashes, Nvidia grey fog, and multiple stability crashes

The first hotfix also flagged a sound problem: if your master volume slider sits below 100 percent, reverb in large rooms and the automatic volume drop during voiced lore do not behave correctly. The temporary fix the developer recommends is leaving master volume at 100 percent and lowering the volume in your operating system instead.

The second hotfix repaired a nasty side effect of the first, where the world settings screen could not be configured. It also addressed a grey fog rendering issue that was most visible on Nvidia cards inside Hollow Halls, plus crashes tied to factory placement, gliding and fast travel in large worlds, water simulation, big enemy counts and a full inventory.

You can follow every patch as it drops on the official Steam news feed and on the Enshrouded news page.
